Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre
The Leading Event for the Equipment Rental Market in Australia is back. Although HIRE20 was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Hire and Rental Industry Association (HRIA) is excited to be bringing HIRE21 to the Gold Coast in 2021.
Over 2 days, HIRE21 will showcase the best that the industry has to offer at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre (GCCEC). This year, we’re seeing unprecedented growth off the back of heavy civil infrastructure spending, so now is a great time to put your best foot forward and promote your message to the industry’s meeting place, as they gather to learn about safety, innovation, business culture and sustainability. 11/3/21 - Grants program thresholds adjusted and scheme extended
Tourism Minister Dan Tehan this morning confirmed changes to the $50 million Business Events Grants Program, including increasing the number of delegates, sponsorship caps and priority sectors covered by the scheme.
The program, which covers up to 50% of the costs of participating in approved events, will also have its application threshold halved to $10,000 in spending to allow smaller businesses to apply.
Support is also being extended for events scheduled through until March 2022 which were postponed from early this year due to snap border closures, and grant applications will now be open until 30 June 2021.
Expressions of Interest for event owners to have their events included on the Schedule of Approved Business Events will also reopen early next month, with an updated version of the program guidelines and eligiblity criteria - including an expansion of the "priority sectors" - to be published in by the end of March.
The update came as part of a $1.2 billion tourism stimulus package which is funding hundreds of thousands of discounted airfares to 13 regional destinations, an extension of a Government-backed loans scheme for small and regional businesses, and additional support for the travel agency sector.
The Hire & Rental Industry Association is pleased to advise that HIRE21 has been listed on the Schedule of Approved Business Events for the Federal Government’s Business Events Grant.
The Business Events Grant Program provides attendees - including sponsors, exhibitors and delegates with financial support to attend and participate at exhibitions, conferences and conventions. The initiative has been designed to instill confidence back into the business events sector and encourage businesses to return to the event forum.
Having HIRE21 included on the Schedule will enable eligible businesses to apply for a grant to cover up to 50% of the costs of exhibiting and attending HIRE21. The Business Events Grant Program will provide grants of between $10,000 and $250,000 to those attending as a sponsor, exhibitor or delegate.
Eligible expenditure includes
Travel, accommodation and registration
Promotional material directly related to the event
Digital Promotion directly related to the event
Event and display set up costs
Contractor costs directly related to exhibiting at the event
Hire of exhibition space and costs of associated delegates
Up to $10,000 towards sponsorship of the event can be matched dollar for dollar
The complete Business Events Grant Program guidelines are now available at Department of Industry, Science, Energy, and Resource’s website. Applications for grant funding open today – 4 January 2021, and applications are available on the same website.
We would encourage all those planning on attending HIRE21 to review the Grant Program and their eligibility as soon as possible. There is limited funding and this will be allocated to eligible businesses on a first come first served basis with applications closing 31 March 2021.
WARNING - We Recommend Only Using Official Suppliers
Please be aware that HIRE21 exhibitors have been targeted by groups trying to take advantage of the event’s size and continued success. Some exhibitors are receiving numerous phone calls and email messages from individuals not affiliated with the event who are offering various services from:
Unknown stand contractors and event suppliers.
Fake exhibition directories.
Fake event attendee contact information and data.
Travel/hotel arrangements and transportation services.
The HRIA and its official suppliers NEVER sell their visitor lists or exhibitor info. Organisations offering attendee lists or other services, that are not in the approved list are 100% NOT affiliated with the exhibition in any way.
